Welcome to Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge

Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge is a safe and highly equipped facility where sick, injured and orphaned wildlife are rehabilitated. Hobbitstee strives to identify problem areas and put measures in place to prevent said wildlife from distress.

We are passionate about educating the general public on how to coexist with wildlife peacefully and participate and initiate research to improve wildlife rehabilitation and well-being. Our mission is to safely and successfully return rehabilitated wildlife to their natural habitats.

At Hobbitstee, we believe every living thing deserves a chance. Most of our volunteer base consists of young offenders, at-risk youth and adult offenders. We offer an opportunity for meaningful activities—activities which impact the environment and the individuals involved in a positive way.

Important notice!!!

Our province is currently under threat of a Highly Pathogenic strain of Avian Influenza. This disease is deadly to birds and is highly contagious. Please click on the link and read the information prior to brining us wildlife

Team Hobbitstee - Project Birdfeeder

As many of us struggle with social distancing and feeling isolated my mind keeps going to the folks who live in longterm care facilities and group homes. Many of them can’t receive visitors or are very limited. The thought occurred to me that we might bring some pleasure to folks who reside at these facilities by facilitating some bird watching. If we match some volunteers and local business with a longterm care facility within the community we can perhaps provide a well stocked variety of bird feeders which in turn can provide endless viewing pleasure for the residents.
